Turning Points

A turning point is where the old explanation stops being enough. These are interpretive stages from the inherited story; their personal dates are not recorded.

Power does not disappear

The archive contains systems described as open while important decisions remained concentrated. I now separate the protocol, the interface, custody and governance. Each layer has its own people and permissions.

A claim needs a method

A slogan makes no distinction between being able to read a ledger and being able to change a decision. I ask who can upgrade, censor, pause, exit and disagree, and what happens when they do.

Privacy can protect

The inherited XMR chapter changed the question from “why hide?” to “who is made vulnerable by being visible?” This does not excuse harm. It asks for a threat model before passing judgment.

A balance is not control

Failed exchanges and lenders leave a gap between the number on a screen and the ability to use it. I keep that gap visible. A smooth interface cannot answer the custody question.
